The goal of this workshop on effective interviewing for interviewees is to help them to effectively present their competencies, skills and experience at interview for humanitarian and non-profit organizations, using competency based interviewing techniques. Designed as an interactive, hands-on workshop, the day provides ideas, tips and techniques to help participants prepare and present themselves effectively during the interview process in order to maximize their chances of being successful.  

Who should attend

Anyone currently preparing themselves for an imminent interview, or for all those wishing to gain knowledge of the process  to be ready for possible future interviews. 

In this session we’ll be exploring:

  • Skills, competencies and achievements
  • Needs of the interviewer or panel
  • Preparation process prior to the interview
  • Commonly-asked and difficult questions
  • Competency-based or behavioural questions
  • Attitude preparation and maintenance 


Liz Tayfun is an experienced facilitator & trainer, with over 22 years working mainly in organisations within the humanitarian world. She facilitates workshops on team-based interventions, addressing conflicts, diversity, communication and career development. Most recently she has been developing and facilitating distance learning programmes for field-based staff.

Costs: CHF 250 per person;  CHF 200 group price for min. 3 or more (Includes materials/refreshments/light lunch)
